Chalk Paint™ Link Party

Since we are in the middle of our own kitchen renovation, Brighton Cottage caught our attention with their completed kitchen remodel.  Tricia and her hubby did a great job and really brightened and opened up the space.  Love the open shelves painted in Pure White along with lower cabinetry in Country Grey.  What a gorgeous kitchen!

Chalk Paint Stencil Project

Hello, hope you all are having a beautiful weekend!  We just finished up training some new Chalk Paint™ retailers from Arizona and Utah.  We had a great time and hope they did too.  If you are in the Mesa area, stop by and visit Wood Creations Furniture and coming to Vernal, Utah in September is Ooh La La & Friends.  Both are wonderful, creative, and talented and will be able to help you with all your Chalk Paint needs.

Looking back over our photos, I realized that we never shared our door makeover.  We did it awhile ago, but I forgot all about it.  In our store, we have a long hallway leading back to the bathroom door.  It was rather boring, so we decided to add some Chalk Paint (of course!) with a stencil
Super quick and easy to do, I did it in an afternoon between customers.  I used a combo of Old Ochre, French Linen and Coco to add some variation and interest.
Now, when you walk down the hall, there is something pretty to look at.
Enjoy the weekend!

Chalk Paint™ Link Party

I know it has been a little quiet for us here in the blog world, but I can assure you nothing could be further from the truth in reality!  We have been in the middle of completely renovating our kitchen and our store, both at the same time!  Crazy, I know, and it actually wasn't planned to be that way, but that is just the way life is, isn't it?  We have so many photos and things to share, now just to find the time...

I think the theme from last week's link party was stencils!  So many beautiful pieces.  I love how Kathy from Life on Lakeshore Drive created her own stencil on this lovely little table.  She used Coco and Old Ochre to add a little extra design to her project.  You are very patient, Kathy, what a great idea!
April, from A Heart's Desire scored this island for F-R-E-E and just added some French Linen that she already had on hand to complete and personalize it for her kitchen.  Can't beat that!

Chalk Paint™ Link Party!

Hello all!  Hope you are having a beautiful week!  Thanks again for a wonderful party last week.  What really caught our attention was the projects that you created using items that most people would not even consider looking at, yet alone painting.  We are always telling our customers how versatile Chalk Paint™ is and how there is no other product like it on the market.  Well, you proved it this last week!  It is amazing to see the transformation a simple pot of paint can make on cast off items.

Check this plastic shelf that Nicole from De tout, de rien refinished with Antoinette.  Yes, it started as gold plastic, that had been painted an ugly brown until Nicole saw its potential and gave it new life.
Simple and easy!

You must take a look at what Suzan from Simply Vintageous started with here.  I have to admit that I would have totally passed this one over.  She started with a burnt and filthy TV tray.  Yet, look at the beautiful finished product she created with Coco and Old White.  Amazing!

Miss Mustard Seed Milk Paint!

We are so pleased to announce that Miss Mustard Seed Milk Paint is coming to Shades of Amber!
We will stock it both in our online store and in our retail store in Colorado.

What exactly is Milk Paint?

Early settlers brought this method of paint making to North America more then 250 years ago. Basic ingredients included milk, limestone, clay and natural pigments like coal, berries, roots, seeds and minerals all found close at hand. This resulted in a durable paint evident today by antiques showing the original milk painted finish.

Milk Paint is suitable for both interior and exterior applications.  Milk Paint provides a completely breathable coating. In addition to furniture, it is ideal for painting floors, decks,  plaster and drywall too.

100% Natural and Biodegradable
No VOC's or harmful chemicals
No primer required
Virtually odorless
Fast drying
Safe and easy to use!

Chalk Paint Link Party

We have so many exciting things happening right now, I can't wait to share them!  We are in the middle of completely gutting and remodeling our kitchen (can't wait to share all the details and photos!), and we are working on many new and exciting things for our business and store.  Lots of long hours and late nights, but oh so worth it!  We have been gathering ideas inspiration everywhere, and here is what inspired us from last week's link party...

I am just blown away by this faux zinc finish that Amy at The Salvage Collection created with Chalk Paint™  Using a base coat of Graphite and then adding some metallic paint to the Clear Wax, she  rocked the zinc finish!
Leanne from The Burlap Cottage did an amazing job repurposing a changing table into a kitchen hutch!   Yes, you read that right, can you believe it?!?  Using French Linen and Pure White and a great vision, she upcycled her existing furniture into something more purposeful.  What a beautiful transformation, Leanne.

Chalk Paint™ Link Party

Oh my, what a week!  We have lived in Colorado for most of our lives and have never experienced something like the fires from last week.  We made it through just fine, but our thoughts and prayers are with those that did not.  Happy to report that the fire is over 70% contained and that the weather is cooperating.
So many heartfelt thanks to all the firefighters and emergency crews that work so hard for us!

So sorry, we did not have time to pick anyone to feature from last week, but there where many fabulous projects, thanks for linking up!  Please link up this week and we will definitely pick some to feature next time.
