Annie Sloan Chalk Paint Link Party

We hope everyone had a beautiful Memorial Day and enjoyed the long weekend!
Amanda from Reloved Rubbish transformed this great buffet with Louis Blue and Old White accents along with a Graphite top. It is so charming, don't you think?
Shari at Turnstyle Vogue surprised us with this color combination.  Versailles, Provence, and Barcelona Orange.  She drew her inspiration from the colors in the bedding and they were just perfect!  It is just stunning...are you surprised by the color combination too?

Annie Sloan Chalk Paint Link Party

I am really liking this multi-tone look that Leone Design created. Martha custom mixed a color using CoCo with a touch of Provence for the body, and Old Ochre for the bottom drawer.  Also, coveting the strong box she scored from the flea market...love your style Martha!
Next, check out this beautifully updated piano that Nicole from Doodles and Stitches worked on while her husband was out of town.  She had planned on using Old White, but decided to go bold with Provence, and what a perfect color choice!  Nicole did complain about the dust from sanding when she was distressing the piano, this is one reason Annie recommends to wax first, then sand to distress.  No mess!  Another option is to distress prior to waxing by using a wet terry cloth towel versus sand paper - again eliminating the dust.  Either way, it is beautiful, and I enjoyed reading Nicole's story that this piano has been in her family for a number of years and is now updated for many more years to come!

Chalk Paint Color Theory - Olive

Olive Green - a true, deep olive green.  Did you know that green is the easiest color on the human eye? Think about it, it is all around us in nature.  Greens calm and center us.  While most people are a little scared, and the term olive green can bring flashbacks of avocado green 1970's appliances, I can assure you that Annie's Olive Green is a much more sophisticated green.
Olive reduced with Old White

Olive Green in general has become the preferred color for most interior designers this year.

Annie Sloan Chalk Paint Link Party!

We have been so super busy painting, prepping, and getting ready for our upcoming street fair.
We are so excited to be apart of Nest Fest this year!  We will have a booth at the street market in Longmont, Colorado this Saturday, May 19.  Come join us from 9-3 at 2015 Ionosphere St.  We will have furniture to show and sell, painting demos, and, of course, plenty of Annie Sloan Chalk Paint on hand!  If you are in Northern Colorado, stop by and say hello!

Laura from Whimsical Perspective always catches our eye with her gorgeous finishes and lovely staging and styling.  This entry table, originally painted in Old White, had been sitting for awhile, so out came the brush and French Linen and just look at the after!  I don't think this one will be sitting around for long.
Amanda from Reloved Rubbish saw past the very dated speckled finish of this mirror and worked some magic with Louis Blue and Old White accents followed by a wash with CoCo

Annie Sloan Chalk Paint Link Party

Iuliana shows just how easy it is to use Annie Sloan Chalk Paint™ for the first time.  She shared her very first project on her blog Hip 2 Thrift and did a fantastic job on this little side table.  Using Provence and Old White for the stencil, she took a garage sale find and upcycled it to fit her style.  I can't wait to see her next project...
Amanda, form Girl In Pink, created a Jane Austen inspired window display for her store.  I absolutely LOVE her idea and vision and she created it with such elegance and beauty that I might just come join her and move into her display!  Actually, my whole family would want to come too...all 6 of us are huge Jane Austen fans. Be sure to check out her blog as she showcases her before and afters using Annie Sloan Chalk Paint™ It is just breathtaking, Amanda, very well done indeed!

Chalk Paint Color Theory - Antibes Green

1. The neo-classical palaces, such as the Chateau de Fontainebleau in France and in Schloss Charlottenburg in Potsdam.  This style of decorating take the classical themes from ancient Greece and Rome.
It is simple and symmetrical.

2. From the villages around Provence where countless artists have been inspired by the colours of painted furniture, shutters, and doors.  Favored by so many famous artists in the late 19th and early 20th century such as Picasso, Matisse, Renoir, Bonnard, Derain and many other who lived and worked there.
Named after a town between Nice and Cannes in the French Riviera.
Again, a tricky one for Americans to pronounce.  HERE is how the French pronounce it.

Annie Sloan Chalk Paint Link Party!

I like seeing the results when Michele at Stiltskin Studios decides to play with new products!  Just look at the beauty she created with Paris Grey and Old White and then added magic with Annie's new Craqueleur followed by some gilding wax.  What can I say?  I love it!
Rachel from Remastered Relics saved these 70's chairs and brought them into the 21st century with style.  She finished them with Old White and recovered the cushions, I can't wait to see how she transforms the table next.
