Graphics Fairy accent table

There is still time, but hurry! It ends soon!

Now, onto our latest little project. This little accent table was our first project with a graphic. We love the Graphics Fairy and all that she shares!
For this one, we painted the top in French Linen, took our printed out image and used the newspaper transfer method. Simply lay a piece of newspaper (classifieds work best) on the table top then place the printed graphic on top. Then use a pencil to trace the design.

Next, I just traced over the design using a black sharpie, then lightly sanded it to give it an aged look.
The base of the table was painted with Old White, then a color wash with French Linen.

What a fun, easy way to add interest to a plain little table, don't you think?

Weekly Annie Sloan Chalk Paint Link Party

Christie from Carters Cottage (aka Annie Sloan Stockist in Illinois) had been working on this beautifully detailed secretary for a while. I love the combo of Old White and Graphite together as well as the addition of the numbers on the drawers. Christie, I think it looks right at home in your living room and should stay where it's at.
Katie from Sweetgirl Expressions found this girl (as she calls it) at goodwill and transformed this ordinary looking table with great legs and detail into a vintage looking french find.

Katie used Paris Grey (you can't get more french than that) and decided to mod podge some vintage French Ephemera onto the table and sand back to create a time worn look. Beautiful Katie!

Weekly Annie Sloan Chalk Paint Linky Party

At Atelier be, Jess and Vikki started with a couple of worn and tattered chairs with great style but lacking in everything else. After a base coat of Louis Blue followed by a wash using a mixture of Old White, Country Grey, and CoCo, they are now elegant and refined!
Elisa from Apple Turnover loves the serenity of Old White on this beautiful bed she painted. We agree! What a gorgeous place to rest and relax. There's just something about Old White and the sophistication and understated elegance it brings to a room.
Hope everyone has a safe and blessed Thanksgiving!
We will be leaving our linky party open all week as we celebrate with our family and friends.

Weekly Annie Sloan Chalk Paint Linky Party

Patience pays off. Connie from Sensible-Redesign found these chairs at goodwill and patiently waited to find just the right fabric. She painted the chairs with Louis Blue reduced with Old White, then a coat of Old White and distressed back to the original gold color. Very elegant and gorgeous!
Divine Theatre took 30 minutes and turned this free cabinet door into the finishing touch for her fireplace makeover. Painted with Paris Grey and Dark Wax. You must hop over to Andie's site and check out her before and after transformation of her family room fireplace.
All I can say is WOW!

ASCP Leather Sofa

Yes, you read the title correctly! We have a customer, Denise, that used Annie Sloan Chalk Paint on her leather couch and chair! We couldn't believe it either, so we had to take pictures and share.

Purchasing new furniture was not in the budget, and slipcovering it was too feminine for the room. So, why not Chalk Paint it? She was so excited to get started, she almost forgot the before photo. This is "during," but it gives you a good idea of what it looked like before.
And the same section after Graphite Chalk Paint and sealed with Clear Wax.
Here is the whole couch right after painting and waxing.
And the chair and ottoman.
And here it is about one month later.
It is very soft to the touch and very natural looking.
Now, it definitely will become more worn with time and use (especially since she has two big dogs that sit on it), but what a great way to update and extend the life of a piece of furniture.

Here again, is one month later, you can see the rugged aged look developing on the seat cushions where the dogs climb up and sit.
It is perfect for her husband's "man cave" and reminds me of a distressed, aged leather sofa you would find in a old English library in a country estate.

What have you used Chalk Paint on?

Freedom is not Free

Those who live in freedom will always be grateful to those who help to preserve it.
America's veterans have laid the foundation of our great nation.
Their sacrifice of service is considerable, and we are eternally grateful for the service and patriotism of our troops.
Their bravery and sacrifice for our nation deserves our recognition, our respect and our deep gratitude.
Thank you to all our veterans.

French Fabric and Graphite

We are almost done with our lobby makeover, can't wait to share the reveal!
Here is a little project we have been working on as well.
Picked up this chair, too bad there was only one.
I would have loved a whole set of them.
The one makes a really great desk chair though.
It is so comfortable, I might even keep it for my desk chair.
Painted in Anne Sloan Chalk Paint - Graphite, seat recovered in a fabric we carry in our store.

Weekly Annie Sloan Chalk Paint Link Party

Wow! Thanks everyone for your wonderful comments on our French Linen Demilune Table. We absolutely love it and had a hard time parting with it to put in our shop. We would have kept it, except we just couldn't find the right spot for it in our house (trust me, we tried very hard).

So, off to the shop it went....and now off to our weekly linky party....

Bonnie from The Bonnie Burrow made this nightstand sing with her transformation. Love the sheet music she used along with Graphite. Beautiful!
At Homespun Happenings, Tammy did an excellent job revitalizing this display cabinet with Paris Grey and Old White highlights. Now it is gorgeous!

Washing In French Linen

Remember this guy?

When I found this table I knew that with all the detail and style, I could really make it into something special.
After having joined the Annie Sloan Chalk Paint family in the spring, I still can't believe how easy this paint is to use!
I enjoy painting almost everyday and I am amazed with how many different looks you can create with it.

I started with Old White and it stayed that way for several weeks waiting for the inspiration to come. I knew with all the details and carvings, I wanted to accent them; but I wanted it to be soft and natural and authentic.

Then I decided to play around and try something new. This is the first time that I have used this technique before on a piece of furniture.
I was not exactly sure of how it would turn out.
I was amazed with the result and couldn't wait to finish the table.
I just love how the French Linen stays in the crevices and accentuates all the detail.
The table lip was painted in a solid color of Old White
This is by far my favorite furniture piece to date.
Do you Like?

Annie Sloan Chalk Paint Linky Party!

Almost one month in our new store and we are already expanding....
Yeah, we can't believe it either!!!
We have been blessed with selecting our location in
Historic Downtown Monument Colorado

It is the coolest building built in the early 1900's, and has so much charm and character.

So here starts the remodel after one month. Oh and we will be remodeling our front foyer as well. Going for the French Look!

We will share some pics when finished.

We have been waiting so impatiently to feature this hutch, it is absolutely stunning...

A picture is worth a thousand words, isn't it? Chrystal, all I can say is WOW!!!
Here is the recipe she used: a little Old White, some CoCo, and lots of distressing.
Then snap the picture.
Everyone tells me (Brad) that I always use to much blue when painting furniture, I just can't help myself. Obviously Shalaine's shares my love of my favorite paint color combo.

Forget the Oreo's....Aubusson Blue and French Linen together, a new classic combination!

Also, you might notice, we finally have our buttons available on the sidebar to the right.
Feel free to grab and share!

Now it is your turn to share what you have been Chalk Painting....
